This mural is located in Redding, California, at 3315 Placer Street, and is prominently featured along the store’s entryway wall. The composition presents both Mount Shasta and Mount Lassen rising above a blend of historic and contemporary regional landmarks, including the Sundial Bridge, Shasta Dam, Enterprise High School, and the Turtle Bay Exploration Park. Scenes of local outdoor activity—such as fly fishing, mountaineering, and canoeing—are woven throughout the foreground, alongside subtle references to the California Gold Rush, creating a cohesive tribute to the area’s heritage and landscape.
In 2019, the Placer Street Holiday Market underwent a renovation in which the entryway housing the original mural was extended by sixteen feet. New sections were carefully added and color-matched to the original 2008 mural, seamlessly integrating the expansion into a single cohesive composition.
